Return of the Eagles

Who is it???

Isaiah 6:1 NIV In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.

In the year that Isaiah lost the relationship with his earthly king, he was able to see his King in Heaven more clearly than ever. It was not that Uzziah was a godly man at the time of his death, but that he had assembled a strong military and had made Judah strong.  What would become of the empire, now that the surrounding nations might take this opportunity to attack? Isaiah could now also focus on what had been lost or on what there was to be gained.

My dear friend Oswald Chambers (I call him that although he departed for Heaven before I was born; he has become that to me because I have “spent so much time with him”, as it were, through his writings) points out that every time the LORD removes someone that has “stood for God to us”, it is that He may come to us in their place.

Depending on your current state in life, those words may or may not speak life to you. If you are in a lot of pain through the loss of a loved one who “stood for God” as a counselor, an intercessor, a force for righteousness, a beloved brother or sister, then you may not be ready to hear.

But if you are in a certain place of healing, then this is precisely what you DO need to hear, that God is waiting to take the place of the one who is no longer at your side. I have been in many conversations over the years with those who have lost spouses and who have found that “...the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. For your Maker is your husband...” (Isaiah 54:4-5)

These are not platitudinous words spoken to grieving widows and widowers, but powerful opportunities that lay out the promise of being able to actually walk with the LORD in ways never before realized. As painful as is your loss, so will your days ahead be multiplied in their fulfillment if you are able to grasp what your LORD is now saying to you!

But this is not only for those who have lost spouses. This is for all of us when someone we have leaned on is removed from our lives.

It can be as simple as losing someone to a change of job and relocating across the country. It may even be losing someone through a BROKEN relationship. Suddenly they are gone, and you feel abandoned.

God may not have designed it to go that way, but here you are. You need to realize RIGHT NOW that He is again “standing at the door and knocking,” not to save you from your sins (if you have already made that commitment to Him), but to save you from the depression of the dark days of discouragement into which you have found yourself!

He ALWAYS comes to offer Himself as a replacement for your loss. This is a real offer. If you manage to get up and go check, you will see that He has been standing outside the door this entire time, waiting for you to let Him in.

I am guessing He wants to then wrap you up in a long hug… Then have a chat.

The things He will tell you will be amazing.

And, as always, His words will all be spoken in a depth of love beyond what you could imagine.

Let Him in.
